Ed and David Minch designed house featured as part of National Geographic special “Changing Climate” issue.
Passed New York state boards and becomes licensed architect. Registration kept current by focusing on energy efficiency for continuing education requirements.
Received “House Doctor” training certifying homes for air filtration rates and energy efficiency in my architectural design projects.
Started construction (part-time) on “Ruby”, a 40 foot long sailboat which eventually found water 2 and one half years later. Pictured is our beloved “Ruby” which is still an integral part of the Minch’s family life.
Start design/build company specializing in energy efficient design including solar and conservation techniques; Hands-on construction of several homes and additions during this eleven year stretch.
Graduate with a BA in architecture, college of engineering at the University of Notre Dame; spend the next three years working for architects and contractors.
Started one year of study architecture in Rome, Italy.
David entered architecture school at the University of Notre Dame for a 5-year program.
At the age of 12, David began a summer job working in a nursery which lasted into his college years. First responsibility was a water boy and ended drawing landscape plans for the nursery’s clientèle.
